Your Dad The Wise
Oh HI Joe!
Guess what, your dad was referred to as “wise” in Sunday school, I just thought you should be aware, in case you weren’t sure.
This week thing got back to normal. Monday I went with mom to the hospital for the TEE test. It’s where they stick this device down her esophagus so the can get a closer look at her heart from a different perspective. It was validated that she will need , the open heart kind of. This coming Thursday we’ll go see the surgeon to get details and hopefully a date. We’ll keep you updated. Your mom’s doing really well, as you know she is extremely courageous. She’s more concerned about her stake relief society talk and her sore foot.
The rest of the week was pretty standard. I’m back to working on the projector cabinet. I’ve painted it a three tone scheme. The bas and back black, the floor and lid a powder blue, and the cabinet body an iron gray. It breaks up the cowboy toilet look, it looks decent. Last night I was working on final assembly to send a picture to you, but I put one of the hinges on backwards so it will have to wait. But it looks pretty good and it looks way better than I expected it to. I’m also working on on a RiveraPlex logo for the front, but I’m not sure if I’ll put it on or not. Mom has ordered some black curtains to go one either side of the screen. We’ll probably give those weird drawer chests to the DI. I’ll take down the old projector and patch up the ceiling. I’ll probably upgrade the lights too, but that won’t be noticeable.
While we’re on about remodeling, yesterday mom and I bought a new vanity for your bathroom, that was really heavy, but it’s in the garage now.
We’re having a bit of a Rocky movie marathon, we’re on three right now. Truth be told, the get progressively dumber, but I still enjoy them. One of the co stars, Carl Weathers, who played Apollo Creed, died last week. So I felt like watching it.
Wednesday night your brothers and I helped the Pratt’s move a crappy old theater couch from their garage to their upstairs theater room. They were impressed that I got in there and worked to get it up there. They thought I’d just have the boys do it. Now, honestly, you’re brothers are much stronger than me, but while I can, I don’t want to be outworked.
Next weekend mom’s having a baby shower at our house on Saturday and a Super Bowl party on Saturday, your cousins will be well fed. Saturday there’s a Jeep ride that I want to go on to have an excuse to get away. Sunday I have no escape.
Mom’s been on a bit of an organization kick recently. We took two trips to the DI yesterday just for our closet. She found an old flashlight I lost three or four years ago. I need to follow her example and clean my office someday.
I guess that’s it Elder, I sure love you. I look forward to tomorrow.
Pops
P.S. here’s a picture of me asking mom if I look like an old man while trying on an old man vest.
And here’s a pic of so chliqueles I had for breakfast yesterday. I ordered it because Jacob loved them on the mission. It was too rich for me.
