Aunt Stella’s Surgery

 Oh hi kid!

Wow, another week. It was so fun as always chatting with you on Monday. You look and sound happy and confident. I really love you.

As for the job search, still nothing. I have a l lead with a contact at NuSkin in Provo. I heard from the HR person on Monday and my contact on Tuesday, but I didn’t hear anything about an interview yet, I hope I do. There’s another job that’s ghosted me so far, Nightingale college, I’m not expecting an interview there. I hope to find more leads this week.

Friday night I was in the temple, hoping to catch a glimpse of your mother. When the ordinance worker gave the prayer in the prayer circle he asked that comfort and miracles be granted to those name on the roles of the temple. I felt that I need to ask for and expect the miracle of a job. I hate to focus so much on that desire. So many people have trials that are so much worse. I try to put their names in the temple and in my prayers before mine.

Wednesday aunt Stella finally had her back surgery. Aunt Patti took her in the morning and I came in the afternoon to hang out with aunt Patti and wait for aunt Stella to get out of surgery. I love spending time with my big sister. There’s nobody in the world like a sibling, I’m so glad we moved back from Dallas and that we’re close now. Always stay close to your brothers, even when you are far apart. It will give you strength and comfort your whole life.

The surgeon came by and told us everything went well and an hour or so later she was in her room. She looked happy and better. I went up again Friday and she was getting ready to go home. She’s home now recovering. She’s 86 years old and God still grants her miracles, so I know he will with me too.

I finally got the guitar cut out, it looks cool but it’s really heavy. I might make the neck next, I want to understand how to mount it to the body before I start routing out the body, but I have some research to do first. I’m also thinking of building a small, wall mounted table for our bathroom hallway to use as a charging station. I did a few sketches and rough cut a couple of boards. I’m just going to use the leftover cedar I have, so it will be soft, but easy to work.

Tuesday night the Utes got beat by Arizona on the road, not surprisingly. Saturday night we won big over Arizona State (I think I forgot to send you that final score). That was a fun game. Their last home game is Tuesday against West Virginia, we’re going to try to go. Mom is giving a presentation up there in the education building so we’ll try to meet up. Utah is in Provo next Saturday. I don’t see them winning in the Marriott center, but it would be nice. The most interesting stat now is for some reason Utah’s free throw percentage is in the mid to high 80 percent. If I recall, that would have won the a few games earlier this season and maybe Craig Smith would still be our coach. Speaking of, the current rumors are that Alex Jensen is being looked at for the job. He was my pick when they hired Smith. He played on the Rick Majarus final four team, along with Andre Miller. I would be so excited to have those guys back.

Wednesday night I went on visits with the elders. I felt bad as nobody they wanted to talk to was home or answered the door. I went again with them on Saturday before the game. The contact was home, but was busy. I’m sure you can relate to those situations.i like the elders in our area.

This morning we went to Mark’s ward for a baby blessing, then to his house afterwards. They were both nice. Aunt Laurie is in town so we went to eat at grandmas for dinner. She had soup, salad, and sandwiches. Ben ranted for hours both before and after. I had grandma’s delicious tomato soup with slice grilled cheese sandwiches dipped in. I enjoyed it.

Well, that’s it for me kid, chat tomorrow. I sure love you,

Pops
