Puzzle
Oh hi Ben,
I was just thinking of your letter where you mention the dinosaur puzzle. What came to me was, I remember doing that puzzle with Joey just the other day. Well, as you know, from my aged perception, even 10 years ago was just the other day. I remember helping him over-and-over build that puzzle. I think we’d already had it for a while when Joe discovered it, so I’m sure you and Jacob played with it a lot too. It funny how objects can warp time through memory. I imagine it happened to you when you saw it, that’s why you mentioned it. That happens to me all the time, I wonder if that’s why I’m often melancholy. Life starts to move fas as you get older, the mundane parts of your life fade, so the fun parts are highlighted and don’t seem too long ago at all. Your whole boyhood stands out to me as recent memories.
The place you describe being taken to for Chinese New Year really reminds me of the place John took us in China town in San Fransisco. When my friend Mark couldn’t read the menu (all in Chinese) he asked for Orange Chicken. He caught heat like your companion. I told John I didn’t want to know what we were having until after we ate. I recall having various types of fish, squids, shrimp, octopus etc etc. Most of it was really good, only a couple of thing I can remember having a hard time getting down. I think it was more due to texture than flavor.
This week I had to go into town a couple of times for our convention. Monday it was still pretty snowy from the storm the night before. I slid nearly all the way through an intersection in my Jeep on the way home. Luckily, the other cars were also having traction issues getting going, so the way was clear.
Theres not a lot going on these days around here. I guess thats a good thing. Seems like winter has been long this year, I’m looking forward to outside weather. I’m sure we’ll really miss you our first outing out, but we’ll manage somehow.
I haven’t heard from your office yet, so if the name of that form comes to mind, let me know. I’m anxious to help you out.
I love you kid.
