Super bowl zzz

Dear Benjamin,

Well, you’ll be pleased to know that you missed the most epically boring Super Bowl of your lifetime. Patriots win 10-3. With the only TD made late in the fourth quarter. Brady looked pretty flat. Edelman won MVP (he also looks exactly like Yosemite Sam at his angriest). Jarred Goff and the Rams looked exactly how they should, like they didn’t deserve to be there. Goff is no better now than when he got the five interceptions against the Utes. And that Utes defense looked better than anything on the field today.

What you did miss out on however was mom’s brisket. 20 pound of mouth watering, fat dripping pleasure. It was SO good. We had another good turnout, but not the biggest ever. I had fun, but I’m sorta glad party season is over with for a while.

Today was a long church day. We got up and had our family study, which I really enjoy. Then I had Bishopric meeting, then I was invited to the young women’s presidency meeting, then I conducted sacrament meeting, then I went to Joseph’s Sunday school class, then Jacob ordained Joseph to a teacher (did a fine job I may add), then I did tithing. Then I came home to a wild party. I’m feeling a little exhausted, more from recovering from this flu than anything else. But I’m looking forward to going to bed.

Yesterday was a youth temple trip in our Ward. We did baptisms for the dead. There was a pretty good turnout. It was fun because so many of the youth were able to go as 11 year olds. They set a really nice example for the older kids because of their enthusiasm an reverence for the experience. It was fun to see all you buddies, including Jacob, be able to perform baptisms for the younger kids. It was a really neat experience for me to be able to perform the confirmation ordinance for our youth with our Bishop. The Spirit of the temple was exceptionally strong, I felt the veil was thin and that there was just as much activity on the other side yesterday in the temple. Another happy coincidence was that your cousins Spencer and Madeline were there with their mom and dad. It was great to see Spencer baptize Madeline. Kinda made me emotional and think of the times you did that with your brothers.

Well, I may have missed the time for you to read this tonight but I’ll hit send in hopes it make it.

Love you kid
