Oh hi Βενιαμίν!

Oh hi Βενιαμίν!

Not sure why it tickles me that you are interested in reading the Greek New Testament. I’ll not make a big deal of it, except for in this paragraph. I hope the order gets to you soon and you find yourself closer to knowing the Lord because of it. Keep me up on your discovery.

We’ve been watching this discovery network show called alone. They put 10 guys out on the northern end of Vancouver island, separated far enough apart that they get no contact with each other or anyone else. They get to choose 10 items to help them survive. They leave them there in the early fall and they film themselves having this experience. The first guy that quit lasted 12 hours. His camp was surrounded by bears, close in and curious. While he had a credible reason to quit, you could tell from the start he wasn’t committed. Within the first week half of them quit, all for rational reasons. The last 4 made it well over 40 days. When they came and got the last guy, his first reaction was “already?” His experience was no easier than the others. I think 3 things set him apart. He was committed, he really wanted to be there; he kept a positive outlook, even during hard times; he had a spiritual outlook on things. I couldn’t tell if he was religious or if they edited those things out. He did look at things from a spiritual and philosophical outlook. It was a fun show to watch. There’s 2 or 3 seasons on Amazon prime, it’s been fun watching with your brothers, even mom’s into it.

We finished the trip up after we chatted. Can I say without embarrassing you that our call was a highlight of a fun trip? I’ll post another collage here of pictures, but it will look suspiciously similar to the last one I sent. I don’t like to call these little trips vacations, that puts too many expectations on them. I like to look at them as escapes. It’s a time we can all escape our routines, stresses and worries to be together. Any other benefit, adventure or experience is secondary. Ever since you guys were small they’ve taken the same emotional cycle’; excitement, expectation, impatience, frustration, discovery, shared experience, fun and contentment. Contentment just to be together then contentment to be home. I love these adventures.

Makes me think of things to do when you’re back. I look forward to going to going to the Black Canyon of the Gunnison with you. I’ve been through that area, just not there. I was thinking maybe late the summer of 2021. Jake May have left on his mission by then.

According to jacob, the Jazz are second place in the west, 4 games behind the lakers. The Utes play Washington state tomorrow. Their record has deteriorated since some of the early season excitement.

Humm, well kid, that’s all I’ve got for today. Sure love you Benjamin,

Pops
