Dream
Oh hi kid!
Sunday night came fast. We’re back to a normal, non holiday week. And it makes me happy. I have a lot going on at work this week and I look forward to uninterrupted time to get at it.
Yesterday the Utes played Oregon, who was ranked 4th in the country. The Utes hung with them, even tying the score a couple of time, but just couldn’t pull it out this time. They play Colorado in Colorado next Sunday. Colorado is pretty good too. The pac12 looks much stronger in basketball than in football. I sure would love it if the Utes could make the tournament. Artie came to the game with us. We both thought the crowd would be bigger and louder. Your brothers both commented on how big and loud the crowd was. Artie and I both long for the majerus days. Those we really special times. At the game they were giving out poster of great Utah players from the last 50 years to celebrate the 50 year birthday of the huntsman Centre. 12 in all: Mike newlin, tikki burden, Danny Vranes, Tom Chambers, josh grant, Keith van horn, Michael doleac, Andre Miller, Andrew bogut, Delon Wright, Jakob poeltl, and Kyle kuzma. There were also some greats that they left out. I put the posers up near the dartboard and the look pretty good. Let’s see how long it takes before they’re shredded by errant dirt throws. Jacob commented that that was his favorite room in the house, I like it too.
Mom wants me to fix up the kitchen island. I was going to start that on Saturday but the place I get my lumber was out, so I cleaned a little of the garage instead. There’s been a pile of crap right as you walk in for years now. I finally cleaned that up. The things that make an old man happy Benjamin. We went to Gualberto’s on Saturday for lunch and thought of you.
Today was 9am church. I had no extra meetings, pure bliss. Mom made chicken enchiladas, more bliss. It was awesome staying home.
Last night I had this dream that continued all night, even after getting up to go to the bathroom and waking up a couple of times. It’s where I started in the house I grew up in, in my parents room. I discover a door I’ve never seen and it leads into a bathroom with a leaking tub. There’s another door, then another strange room, and on-and on like that. Finally my alarm goes off. I wake up in our warm, beautiful, peaceful, comfortable house. It’s actually a little disorienting after that dream. But I sure felt grateful after all that, felt so happy that this was our current reality.
So, did you get your packages from the mission home? Please let me know if the bag works out. Or if I need to order you a different one.
Well, that’s about all I got kid. Sure love you,
Pops
