Biggest snow since grandpa had a malt this good

 Oh hi Jacob!

Joe and I just got home from the Jazz game with the young men. The jazz beat the clippers soundly. Even though we had nose bleed seats, it was fun to watch. I like the team a little better this year, but, as you know, I don’t really start getting into it until after football season, or even the all star break. Bishop Snarr rode with us. It was fun to chat with him. He’s a really good person.

It snowed hard last night. We woke up to over a foot. When I went to go pick up Ben from trax it was just blowing in, hard. It started accumulating right away. I had a hard time sleeping because I was worried about mom and Joey driving in it, you know how I am. I’d wake up about every hour and it was just blowing in, it really was a blizzard. Finally I heard mom say that school was canceled, and I slept like a baby till after 7. I’d been doing pretty well at getting up and going for walks, but I’m going to need to recommit because I’m far from motivated enough to walk two miles up hill in a foot of snow.

Later that morning I went on a rant because grandma said that mark wasn’t going to bring his baby to be babysat by her. But in true Heumann fashion neither he or none of the other “men” in the family volunteered to go help clear her snow either. After a while mom was talking to her on the phone and she said she was going to go do it. I’m super pleased with your brothers as they told her not to and they drove up to do it. By that time, the roads were a little more clear. She had several inches more than we did. It took them at least two hours. Then they came home and did ours, which also took them over an hour.

Right after they left, I made an excuse to go get my hair cut. I just needed to see what the roads were like to know how much to worry about your brothers. They weren’t all the way melted, but they were manageable. Mom came with me. You’ll find out when you’re married that girls cut their hair so it will grow. Which kinda makes me feel like an idiot for mowing the lawn. If I didn’t cut it, it wouldn’t grow so I wouldn’t have to cut it. The girl that cut mom’s hair was a young college girl. I think by the time mom’s hair was finished she had convinced her to give up hair and major in elementary education and be a teacher. I convinced my stylist to not put product in my hair, but that wasn’t easy.

I’m pretty busy at work. Everyone is getting their projects in so they can take their Christmas break. The days do go much faster when I’m busy, which I appreciate. I do have this guy at work that every time our boss asks him to do something he calls me and gets me to tell him what to do. Then I tell him. I’ve honestly only just recognized this pattern, so I don’t know if I should do anything about it or not. On one hand, I’d rather he deal with our boss for that crap. On the other hand, it’s freaking good strategic direction and I should probably be a little more assertive at taking credit for it.

Now that it’s cold and dark out, I’ve taken up my hobbies a little more. I finally finished putting the million tiny decals on my f15. The next step is weathering, which is the fun part. I also have to build and paint the landing gear and the missals and bombs. So I probably have a few more months on the thing. I’m also finishing up an rc that I’ve had for several years. I found a Jeep Cherokee body and I plan on painting it up like our old gray one. Should look cool.

Sports talk is all Utes all the time. They only mention byu and the jazz in passing. All the “devoted” byu fans seem to have disengaged. Even uncle Tim and mark talk more about the rose bowl than their bowl. I clench down hard not to roast them, they make it so easy.

Well, that’s about it for me. I love you kid, I’m so very proud of you. I hope you got batteries and at least have a little warm water. Heck, I hope you still have water at all.
