Transfer boy!

 Oh hi transfer boy!

It was nice talking to you last night. You seemed pretty chill for your first Christmas away. I hope you had some fun. I hope the baptism happened and that it went well. I’ve been thinking and wondering about your potential transfer. I wonder where you’ll go. I look forward to your descriptions of it throughout the weeks and months. I wonder about your comp, if he’ll be Mexican or American, if you’ll be junior or senior comp. Seems like you’ve been the senior com for all least the last transfer despite the official designation. I look forward to your letter, long or short.

Our Christmas turned out about as expected. I note that we are blessed, hopefully without it sounding like a fake humble brag. Joey didn’t get us up till about 7, which is record late for our house. Santa was good to us despite wanting to keep it simple in light of the upcoming trip. The boys mostly got Ute gear, with a few cooking implements thrown in for Ben and some drumming stuff for Joey. Mom got her traditional cooing stuff, if she now doesn’t have all the kitchen stuff from the Pioneer Woman she is close to having it all. Argeorqui got a hot wheel and a candy cane. He just assumed it was from mom, he hates being a fictional character that has to believe in something as fake as Santa, so he thanked your mom for the stuff. Your brothers got me vinyl, Let It Be from Joey and Led Zeppelin IV from Benjamin. Your mom got me a 3D printer that I guiltily bought for myself a couple of months back. It’s a resin one, more detailed prints and more complexity and mess. In fact, I’ll need to scrounge up more devices and supplies before I can even see if/how it works.

We went to grandmas for brunch. It was only slightly less insane than Christmas Eve. I don’t recall any good roasts or dumb things said, but it’s a nice tradition. Tyler and Mr. Tyler we’re there. I got another hug, but this time I wasn’t forced to bury my face in a bare acne’d shoulder, so despite his ugly Christmas sweater being a tad tight, I was able to retain my composure.

We came home for a bit after so mom could finish her veggie tray for aunt patti. The bergs couldn’t go because Madeline had come down with a cold or maybe a flu. Aunt Stella stayed home because she had one too. It was super fun to be there, the food was extremely delicious. It’s all stuff m6 mom and grandma used to make for Christmas. Her tamales were probably her best batch ever. Artie taught us how to eat them properly. Beans on the plate, tamales on top, covered with a roasted green chili, fresh guacamole, and his spicy salsa. Heavenly. She also made posole, which isn’t my favorite, biscochito’s which are Mexican Christmas cookies, and homemade peanut brittle. All so good. I haven’t seen aunt patti this happy maybe forever. I’m so happy for her right now. She gushed about your letters, again

We’ve just been chilling at home ever since. Church was just sacrament meeting and just singing, so that went quick enough Ben made his first prime rib today, it was insanely good, he made creamy horseradish sauce with it, so good. We just did regular Sunday chill stuff 5he rest of the day.

Love you kid, have a great happy day. Leave your comp on a a positive note if you at all can. It will be better for both of you.
