Summer
Oh hi Joe!
How did the talk go? Were you able to open the document I sent? I never heard back, so I hope you were.
You looked good in the Zone Conference pics your sister presented posted. I love the big smile. How’s the Ford Maverick?
I’m upstairs but I can hear your brothers practicing Standing There. This may be the first time I’ve heard them practice together.
Do you realize that exactly one year ago today your brother Jacob came home from Mexico? That was a really happy day.
This is the week for summer activities around here. Yesterday was the big Air Show at Hill AFB. I took Jacob and we picked up aunt Patti. She really enjoyed it. It was fun to watch her experience that. Jacob was a good sport, but I could tell that it wasn’t really his thing. He toughed it out though, and I like being with him. I met my old buddy Brad Smith there. He and I have enjoyed airplanes since our wee boy days. I think he’s been my friend since I was seven or eight, could be longer though. It fun talking about airplanes with him. I’m really grateful for long time friends like that. There’s a type of brotherly love I have for them. It got really hot and it was really crowded. But I really love it, I think it’s a life long thing for me. I’ll send over a few pics I got there.
Your brothers just played Another One Bites the Dust. They have some work to do on it.
After the Airshow we dropped aunt Patti and jammed home for a shower, we were burnt and still hot. Then we had to turn around and head up to the Sandy Amphitheater to see fake Queen. I didn’t have high expectations and I was sad that mom and Ben wouldn’t be with us. So we horked down some $5 McDonald’s value meals and headed up. We met aunt Patti and cousin Cecily there and went in. The general admission grass seat were pretty full so we were way at the back. We couldn’t even see the stage without standing up. But we were in the shade and a nice summer breeze was blowing, so I didn’t complain. The band was actually pretty good, though there videos didn’t work so there stage show wasn’t much. They essentially played the greatest hits. It was fun being with my sister, niece and kid. I think I probably need to just get used to not being with your mother until her Masters degree is done.
Jacob and I came home and watched John Wick at high volume. It was fun.
Moms has or will tell you about her trip. Sounds like the new car did well, Ben drove the whole way. Poor grandma threw up on the way, but Ben seems to have done a fine job with the clean up. I detected no smell when I was in it this afternoon. Ben got his elusive hot sauce.
I’m looking forward to this week at aunt Patti’s for the 4th.
That’s about it from me kid. I sure love you,
Pops
