Another 4th of July

 Oh hi kid,

Happy 4th! It was nice talking to you on Friday. It was another classic 4th at auntie Patti’s house. Because of her and Artie this is the best holiday of the year, by far. We got there for dinner and they had the most delicious bbq chicken ever. Aunt Stella came and brought her potato salad, it rivals grandma’s.

After a while we went up to the golf course for fireworks. It was nice and cool thankfully. We got our usual spot and auntie Selena brought all these glowy toys and stuff. It was really fun and the show was good. Aunt Patti had all these treats when we got back. Mom and I got to bed about 12:30 and I think your brothers watched a movie after.

Aunt Patti made a big breakfast in the morning, then we went to go see the movie F1. It was a classic summer blockbuster with Brad Pitt. It was fun to watch and well shot if not totally original. I’d watch it again. We went to the Megaplex in Centerville, it’s probably the nicest Megaplex I’ve been to.

After the movies we got home and went to grandmas for burgers and dogs.  On and Ben made the burgers and they were great. Your uncle’s were there and it was nice. Overall, it was a really nice holiday and a nice escape from the world.

At home the big news is the bathroom remodel. I have the new vanity installed (less the plumbing), and I got the tile for the backsplash installed (less the grout). It’s looking good so far. Next is grout, then plumbing on the sink. Then I’ll pull out the toilet, redo the baseboards and trim, then the wallpaper, and put the new toilet in. We’re actually debating the wallpaper, mom’s worried about the moisture. The last step is mom wants me to build some shelves to go over the toilet for towels and what nots.

My freelance has been a little slow, but I hope it ramps up this week. The job search is seemingly endless, and fruitless, but I need to keep working on it. I have another meeting with the franchise broker tomorrow, we’ll see how that goes. Brother Carver bought a franchise a few weeks ago, so maybe it’s time for me to take a chance on myself. I don’t want to be a bum dude.

Other than that, we’re down to about a month before Ben’s departure. Mom’s starting to make cupcakes for your cousin Max’s wedding. I look forward to talking to tomorrow. And getting back to a normal week. I love you kid
