Snow day
1.21.2019
Dear Ben,
We got your letter today. As much as I want to speak to you on Wednesday, I completely support your desire to avoid the knowledge of Babylon so we won’t send a phone. I sure hope that you can find a way to call, but I understand if you can’t. Also, concerning my email. My yahoo account is the default and the one I check the most. I’m not really sure how those messages came through on my gmail account. If you do inadvertently send to that account, I’ll still get it.
That storm today made it a pretty quiet holiday. The power was out for a while, but not long enough to get cold in the house. It was long enough to make one realize how dependent we are on society in general. During the outage, your brothers went sledding so I went to clear the walks—holy smokes was that snow heavy. Brother Blackam had his ATV with a plow clearing the Allen’s drive, so he did a little of ours. I was still working when your brothers came back, it was like seeing the special forces coming to the rescue.
Later, we went to do grandmas walks. Tyler had done them earlier, so it didn’t take too long. Embarrassingly, my jeep got stuck in the deep heavy snow. A neighbor was hollering at me unintelligibly, I don’t think he meant any malice, but it really got under my skin. When I got out to pull out the shovels, I just gave him a look. He backed off. I expected to feel bad about it, but I don’t. I need to work on that, I’m usually more reserved than that.
Please keep us updated Benjamin. Everything you are going through is important to us. Stay positive if possible, vent if you need to. As I’ve said before, I’ll be very discreet about anything I forward on.
Say hello to your mission president for us. I don’t think we’ve ever met, but you were born into his home Ward and I lived most of my life in his Stake.
Jake and I are currently watching the Jazz game. Honestly, I don’t always have the attention span for them, but I do like being with your bro.
I love you with all I am kid, always remember that.
Pops
