Red and White game

Oh hi Elder,

We’re sitting here watching Game One against the Rockets, it’s late in the first, Jazz down 7.

We just got home from grandmas, she had Alfredo and Parmesan chicken again because Nick and Hayley are in town. Mom made trese leches cake, it was all yum. I fasted again today, so I anticipate indigestion because of how I ate.

This weekend was Stake Conference. It was a long one, but a good one too. Yesterday mom came with me to leadership session. Elder Wentzel from the area 70 was our general authority. He was pretty inspirational with some good stories. After, because Bishop Powers was out of town, we were invited to eat dinner with the General authority, the Stake presidency, and the other bishops. Your mom, as always, was quiet charming, so I didn’t have to say too much. We sat on the hard chairs for the leadership meeting, and it went long. My bum cheeks were basically hemotomas by the end. But it was inspiring.

Jazz down 31-24 at the end of the first.

This morning there was a youth meeting at 8. I missed you a little till I realized that you are no longer a youth, so you wouldn’t have had to come anyway. Luckily we had soft seats for both that and for General session. My favorite talk from General session was by a returned missionary from the Mexico, Oaxaca mission. He told a story of having a hard time and not having success. He told of finally finding a family and how the dad wouldn’t come to church because he needed Sunday’s to buy cars for his business. The elders were inspired to promise that the man would sell this car that he had been stuck with. He then described feeling doubts about the promise, then how he felt when the man walked into church. I know I haven’t done this story justice, but I was really inspired.

31-37 Huston half way through the second.

Yesterday morning mom gave us permission to skip out on Sam’s baptism (even I can’t do church 24/7, and this week was close) to go to the red-and-white game. The weather was perfect, it was awesome. We parked up on Gardsman way, just across from the stadium. When we were crossing the street, this guy was crossing with us, he was very friendly and said hi. He walked ahead of us and I told your brothers that that guy looked just like Andy Ludwig, our new/old offensive coordinator. When we got to the stadium, one of the ushers pointed out that it was Andy Ludwig. I wish I had said something that would have embarrassed your brothers, like “I’m glad your back.” Or, “that Alabama game was, awesome!” About out the game, Huntley had a perfect first half with 183 yards and three scores. Moss and Covey were held out. The Utes looked good, but the, that game is designed for that. Afterwards, we went down on the field and got some photos. It was super fun, of course we missed you.

I told you about my interview on Wednesday, not sure if I’ll here anything tomorrow or not. I feel anxiety swell up in me when I think of it. Wednesday night I went with the teachers Quorum on a career night field trip to, prepare to seethe with envy, a compounding pharmacy. The one across the street from the Riverton hospital. And I need to tell that I have only the highest esteem for Brother Knight (who is a pharmacist). But as much as he and the owner pharmacist tried, the could not seem to sell any appeal to the profession.

Thursday night I was invited by President McMullen to participate in a disciplinary council. I will not divulge any detail. Suffice it to say that it was a rough one, easily the toughest emotionally I’ve been a part of. I can also tell you that I have never had a stronger witness of repentance and the atonement then when participating in those Councils. The outcome is completely based on Gods love and mercy in starting a path to return to Him. The Spirit of Love was incredible that night.

Tomorrow morning I have a second interview with a place called Access Development. I’ll let you know how it went when we start texting tomorrow.

Mom and your brothers want to go do baptisms at the Salt Lake Temple tomorrow. I have five names. Mom says that my forefathers may be happy with my unemployment as I’ve been to the temple a lot. I’ve lost count of how many ordinances I’ve completed. We have those baptisms, then some initiatories, I’ve completed all the male endowments for now, then we’ll have a good number of sealing’s to do. Your temple open house is coming up.

Jazz down 44-59 at half, we’ve turned it off for now.

Well, Love-YA-I-tell-YA!

Pops

P.S. I’ll fill you in on the final score later. Sooner if they manage a come back

P.P.S. Jazz down 71-83 at the end of the third.

P.P.P.S. Final Jazz 90, Rockets 122. It may be a short series
