Game 3
Hi kid,
We just got home from Young men’s. It was a football night for the teachers and priests. You brothers played well, but they don’t demand attention like the other boys. Luckily, Bishop didn’t play, so I didn’t have to be permanent blocker. Bishop was telling me about his test engineer exploits at teraflex, my favorite but unobtainable Jeep parts after market purveyor, my rack is made by them. They’re having issues with their big brake kits for the new style wranglers.
Today there was an unexpected positive update with the job (calm down, no offer yet). Mike Allsop, the hiring manager, invited me to lunch today. Even though there was no negative scenario that I could possibly concoct, it still made me nervous. We ate at R&R bbq in Pleasant Grove. It was good, but I talked so much I only ate a little, I was a little embarrassed. Turns out there’s two more interviews and he wanted to coach me up a little on what to expect. Tomorrow I meet with the creative staff that I’ll be managing. If I do well in that interview, the next step will with the CEO. he seemed most concerned about that. The CEO is a finance guy. Seems his main concern may be my experience in presenting to the board of directors and presenting to the different markets, I’ve done that extensively, so I hope I can convey that. I thought it was especially kind of him to take his time to advise me like that. I’m not sure if he does that with every candidate or not. I can’t imagine he has. He also thanked me for my enthusiasm in my last interview. Somehow, I don't associate myself with enthusiasm, so that was a nice compliment. I’ll keep you posted, please keep me in your prayers. I really want this Ben.
Today. I had another victory. Remember that sprinkler box that was leaking last Summer when you were home and I thought it belonged to the Allen’s but it was ours? Well, I did a repair with cheap parts last year and it leaked. It was close enough to the end of the water year that I just blew it off. I hate plumbing dude. With all the rain, I didn’t have to fix it till now. Well, after a trip to the sprinkler store and four trips to Home Depot and Lowe’s for fitting and parts, I got it fixed. Did I say that I hated plumbing? Now I need to fix the that valve that froze and flooded the basement that time. They had the part there, and while it was expensive, it was about a quarter of what I expected.
On the other hand, the Pig is still kicking my butt 😡.
We just finished watching game three and thought of you, I wonder how the finding activities went for you tonight. The warriors fans are probably pretty discouraged by now.
I ordered some shocks for the Jeep, once I get those installed, I’ll feel confident in putting new tires on. Hopefully I’ll have a job then. I also need to replace the diff fluid and diff covers. It never ends. I’d like to get the pig running to save all that wear on the Jeep.
Things feel pretty different with your mom and brothers being home with me. I fear I could get used to it. I need to get working before I get to lazy. I sure like goofing off with these folks, but my role is to be the provider.
Man, I’m sleepy kid. I sure love you.
