Eureka and Dividend

Oh hi kid!

Transferred? ZL? The big dance? San Francisco?

Well, for us, another week of working from home, working on the garden. My Covid beard is coming in thick. It makes me look old, or at least my face does. It’s time to shave.

We’re watching the Last Dance again tonight again. Jordan is staying over tonight. I finally feel like your brothers understand why I always claim that MJ is the GOAT, and why I think today’s nba is so soft. At the end of the episode, the showed highlights of the last regular season game between the Bulls and the Jazz in 1998. We all gasped, the cheered when they showed the comeback. Jordan kept saying how badly he wished he had been alive for those years.

We had another adventure with the Heumanns today. We went to Dividend and Eureka. We wandered around and explored a lot, it was really fun. Mom made these killer roast beef sandwiches for a picnic. I’m really feeling closer to uncle Tim and Aunt Lithia, it means a lot to me.

Yesterday was a chore Saturday, the yard is really coming together. Mom’s getting curbing all over the yard next week so we’re nearly ready for that. I have the sprinklers turned on, but I think I need a new timer. Our crappy wheel barrow collapsed full of dirt, so your brothers helped me carry it to the back of the yard and I piled the dirt up under the little pine tree in the corner. Our front trees really blossomed this week, it makes your mom so happy.

They say things may start to open up next weekend. I’m dying for a haircut. But in all honesty, I’d be okay if certain things stayed the same. I see, in our neighborhood anyway, families seem to be doing more together, kids are doing kid stuff rather than organized team sports, they’re outside more, we’re together more. Sunday’s are about church and family more than meetings and obligations. I hope for your sake things open up, but I also hope we can remember this time as a time we came back to family and basics.

Mom bought me a radio for my Jeep. I wanted it because it has car play and can show all my maps on screen, plus, I can connect a backup camera. But the dog gone thing isn’t working, I can’t get power to it. I’ve taken it in and out half a dozen times. I even put back my factory radio...it works. I may have to take the whole thing back and start over, which is frustrating. In my lifetime I’ve probably installed a dozen different radios in my cars, family members cars, and friends cars. Not once have I had one not work. In know this is a minor and trivial first-world-problem, so it’s embarrassing to admit just how much it bugs me.

Next week uncle Tim invited us to go camping. Probably just an overnighter in the desert somewhere, but I’m looking forward to it to no end. Mom’s happily planning on not going with us.

Well, I sure look forward to hearing from you tomorrow. I hope you continue to do well, no matter what area you find yourself in.

Love you extremely,

Pops

P.S. We got some sad news yesterday. Grandma found out that your cousin Heidi may be getting divorced. That poor girl has a pretty tough life. Please keep her in your prayers for us.
