Cookie and Butch

Oh hi kid,

Highlights for the week: Return of the King at the movies on Tuesday; steak dinner made by mom for grandma on her birthday on Thursday; movie night with uncle Tim and Jordan on Friday; took the old sectional to the dump on Saturday; today we went to grandmas and she made us Alfredo, meatballs, and chicken Parmesan. So pretty good highlights.

It was a pretty good week, no low lights to speak of, other than not getting a letter from you on Monday that is.

We were thinking of going camping on Friday and Saturday, but it’s hot out and it’s biting insect season, so we decided to put it off for a couple of weeks.

Tonight I took both of you brothers driving. Jacob finally decided that it was time to take his test, and Joey is trying to get hours. They are both showing improvement. Mostly I just like spending the time with them.

Did you know that for my fifth birthday part my mom hired Cookie and Butch to come entertain my friends. Do you know who Cookie and Butch were? Two baby chimps dressed as little kids from the Hogal Zoo. Cookie was dressed in a little dress and Butch was dressed in overalls and a checkered shirt. I do remember that they were both wearing diapers. I can’t imagine my neat freak mom inviting two chimps in, she never let our family dogs in the house. These days I think it would be difficult to take chimps into random houses with all of the liability laws, and the fact that chimps have been known to rip the hands and faces of off their human masters.

Well, that’s about all I got for this letter, sure love you Benjamin. We look forward to hearing about your changes and hopefully reading a letter from you.
