Happy Independence Day
Happy Independence Day Benjamin!
What was the holiday like over on Jackson street? We had our classic BYOFW party with mom’s side and the Bergs. We had the same hamburgers we had the day of your farewell and some big hotdogs. Those burgers supply their own fuel after a while when all the fat starts to drip out. They cook fast too with lots of smoke. I saved the last batch for uncle Tim and I because he had just enough green chili’s for us. We put them on the burger under the cheese, then I put salsa fresco on it...ohh man was that heaven. Mom and Joey made these amazing flag sugar cookies, it was great.
After, we did our classic fireworks show...don’t worry, grandpa didn’t get hit four times. There were a lot of fireworks in the neighborhood last night, so it was pretty fun. Afterwards, white-trash style, we brought the fire pit onto the driveway and made s’mores. It was a pretty fun night.
This week was otherwise pretty quiet. I may have set a personal record though, I didn’t leave the house between church on Sunday and Thursday morning when your mom and I went to harbor freight.
Oh yea, last Tuesday night we did go to the movies. Calm down, it was under county approved health protocols. We went to see the extended version of Return of the King at Jordan commons. It was awesome I must say. We’re going back this Tuesday for the Two Towers.
This weekend Disney+ released the play Hamilton so mom invited the Heumann’s and Bergs over to watch it today. I was less than enthusiastic about watching it. I do have to admit that I enjoyed it. The talents displayed were amazing.
I’m hoping for another quiet week next week, but I think I will have a pretty busy week at work.
Uncle Tim and I signed up for a tour of the old Wendover airport next week. They’ll show us the Arnold Gay hanger, the nuclear bomb loading pit and other historical and boring things. I’m really looking forward to it.
Well kid, I sure love you,
Pops
