Bargeorqui
Oh hi Bake,
I sure hope you’re feeling better, hopefully a lot better, hopefully, out of quarantine better. If not hang in there, you have a lot of prayers on your side.
This morning we woke up to a snow storm. When I got up and looked out the window there seems to be a couple of inches on the ground. When I got on the road taking Ben to TRAX it was a white out blizzard. On Mt. View you could hardly even see tire tracks on the road. The snow was going completely sideways. I counted no less than 13 cars off the road. Fun times. Obviously, I got worried about Joey and mom driving to school. Joe really doesn’t want me taking him, so mom talked him to letting us follow him with a bribe of McDonald’s. The roads were still bad when we went, the light on 146th south and Redwood was out, so it was a little sketchy. But we all made it ok. By the time Joey got home, our driveway was melted and the sun was out, but it was really cold.
Today I had an interview with a headhunter. It went so well I practically made friends with him. He’s into off-roading as well. I’m not sure how interested I am in this company that I know nothing about. But my job has been really frustrating so I may follow up just as an escape. It’s a local job, but for some reason he asked if I was willing to relocate. I told him it would take a lot because we were pretty settled. Don’t worry, it would either mean double the salary or I was desperate enough to do it, neither is the case right now. I will keep you posted on any progress with the local job though.
Tonight Joey and I had young men. Dude, I’m having a really difficult time finding a desire to do it. I’m trying to like the young men, but I know it comes across forced. I also feel that there’s no leadership from the adults. Myself included. I really need to figure this one out. I know because of my attitude there I could never be a mission President.
When we got home we went downstairs to watch Boba Fett. Just then, mom called us up because the elders had dropped by. They were doing their part asking about the non member families on the street. As we went through all that I got the feeling that maybe the were more serious than Elder Mitchell and them. So I brought up Ashley and told them everything that happened. They’re willing to teach if they can, and are going to ask their mission President about it. They looked appalled when I told them what happened last time. I hope we can do better for Ashley this time. They did tell us that this month 10 missionaries from this mission went home, for really minor reasons, like being yelled at. Of course I thought about you and the literal crap you’ve had to deal with, and comps, and gastrointestinal, and missing limbs and mean members and now Covid...You’re a warrior Jacob. I have so much admiration for you. Oh, and boba Fett was awesome.
We got some news about your cousin Spencer. He’s going to be going through the temple a week from Saturday. We’ll be going with him. Aunt Selena is hoping he’ll get his call around May. Fingers crossed. That’s the day I was going to go on that Jeep trip, but first things first I guess. We heard one of your cousins that’s not Jordan was thinking of coming home, but that seems to have passed. One of your aunt and uncles sold their rv, so they may be moving in with your grandparents. I won’t be going that direction too much if that happens. Enough gossip for now though.
Your new little brothers name seems to have settled on…wait for it…Bargeorqui…there is actually some thought behind it. Argeorqui thought he was like his clone, like Bobba Fett to Jango Fett. Argeorqui being Jango. So it started out a Bobba, evolved to Bobbagorqui, refined itself to Boargeorqui, then settled on Bargeorqui. You might have broken several missions rules for wasting your time reading this paragraph, sorry.
Mom says she loves you, very much.
As do I,
Pops
