The most George Rivera thing I’ve ever said

 Oh hi Jacob,

Well, the super bowl just ended, Weddle got his ring. Everyone is gone and the mess is more or less cleaned up. I’m sure Ben will give you game details, and mom will tell you how wonderful it was. I’m just here to say…at least Mark wasn’t here. I got scolded for over cooking the tortillas by your brother Benjamin, but otherwise I was ignored, so that’s good. I don’t think I’m feeling grumpy, but I can say, I have no desire to do any more parties anytime soon, these big parties may have run their course as far as I’m concerned.

Otherwise today was quiet. I prepared and gave my lesson, it went okay. It still weird that church starts so late. But it gives me plenty of time to procrastinate.

Yesterday I wasn’t able to go on the fun trip I had planned, but another one came up over to Simpson springs, then south to some hot springs. It was an okay ride. Your brothers were both working so I was on my own. Uncle Aaron with Max came in their Jeep. It was really dusty. But this 4Runner with the suspension upgrade I had put on when I bought it and the tires aired down to 23 or so psi rides like a Cadillac on those washboard roads. I was very impressed. I also used my little ham radio for the first time since I got it 4 years ago, and it worked great. I should say it received great signals, but since I don’t have my ham radio license, I don’t transmit. Yesterday after Ben overheard me excitedly telling uncle Aaron about an all day ham radio class and he started laughing saying that was ,“the most George Rivera thing” he had ever heard me say. Ben.

I had an hour or so before we had to go to Spencer’s temple shindig so I started to install the infrastructure for extra outlets for my power tools in the garage. This may be more challenging than I thought. It’s needed because my tools keep triggering the breakers every time I use them. So frustrating.

Later, we met everyone at JCWs for dinner in pre celebration of Spencer’s milestone. It was nice to see everyone. I get the feeling that we start these traditions and everyone else does the same thing. For whatever reason, we got there super early, so we hung out at jcws forever until it was time to go to the temple. We went to the Jordan River temple, and it was a very nice way to end the day. I was chastised by Ben for the excessive hugging in the Celestial Room. Mom didn’t go, she had some weak reason of Joe working late…heaven forbid I try to get out of church or one of her family activities ( let’s face it, except for this, they’re ALL her family activities). I told everyone she couldn’t go because of an issue with a guy named Mark, with a Q. She didn’t think that was funny, but she played along.

In preparation for tonight’s dinner, Friday night we went to rancho market. It’s always fun to go there. I love to see how excited mom gets for the cheap yet amazing produce and how freaked out she gets in the meat section. I do hate going through the checkout and being asked questions in Spanish, only being able to respond without a blank look of idiocy.

Also Friday I had my presentation to the ceo, the one my boss WAY over thought. It went very well as I knew it would.

Not much else going on around here. The weather has been nice, though there are rumors of snow. Though I’m no farmer, I assume we need the, as the Mormons say, moisture.

Well, that’s about all the exciting news from good old Bluffdale.

Love you kid, looking forward to hearing about your new comp. Hope he’s a good one.
