High School Basketball

 Oh hi Bake!

How’s Elder Gonzales? How’s the teaching going? Hopefully the fun factor and the real work factor is up for you.

Tonight was the season finale of Boba Fett. Oh man, I can’t wait to watch it with you. It had everything. The mandolorian, awesome battle droids, Cadd Bane (my favorite western villain since Lee Van Cleef), the rancor, and other cool stuff that I’d rather not spoil in case you have a long memory. Star Wars is awesome again.

Today I had McDonald’s twice. Hopefully weight watchers is like forgiveness, you know, seven and seventy times.

Last night we went to the Riverton varsity boys basketball game for our young mens activity. I’m doing my best to talk to and get to know the boys. I wish your brother would try a little harder too, but I can honestly understand why it’s hard for him. If that game is any indication, high school basketball suhucks man. What a bunch of chuckers. No screens, no plays. All they do is run dribble all the way under the basket and then try to figure out what to do. Nobody moves away from the ball. And they whine about every-single-call from the refs. No wonder college and pro ball sucks. There are no fundamentals at all. Rick Majerus must be spinning in his grave. Riverton had about a 15 point lead early in the half, then blew it with a few seconds left. They still had a chance to win when their “star” player went to the line. He boinked it of the backboard way to the left of the rim, then rimmed out the second one for a choke, pathetic. On the bright side, we got to see Jared Carver play. He’s the backup point guard. He has much better ball handling and court vision, at least in this game, than the starter. He just seems to get pushed around a little more and stays on the outside, like I thought a point guard was supposed to.

On other spots news, Joe ingles really did get traded today, to the trailblazers. I’m sure Ben will tell you more details. I found him entertaining as a player, now the jazz are slightly less interesting than before, something I genuinely find surprising.

Joey starts his job Saturday, he’s a bit nervous, quiet a bit. I think that Panda Express experience left him with a bit of ptsd. I can’t imagine this being as bad. I’ve been in there before on a Saturday. Nobody seems in a giant hurry.

I’m looking forward to Saturday. I found a less demanding Jeep trip to go on. We’ll take the pony express road past Simpson springs then head south to delta. I’ve always wanted to go that way. I invited uncle Tim, mostly for story material, but he had to get home early. I told him that I couldn’t promise and that I didn’t want aunt Lithia after me if we were late. I may have to turn back early myself to get back in time for Spencer’s endowment. I really just need to get out of the house though.

Not a whole lot else going on around here. I do think of you a lot. I love being with you guys every minute I can. Life goes by so fast I'm not sure we can be together enough.

Here are a couple of photos of that bridge crossing the narrows for Porter Rockwell road. These are taken from just below ether we used to look over it on our walks. It seems to be progressing much more noticeably now.

Love you kid, with all of my heart,

Pops
