Oh hi Bakey,
I’m starting this letter just before dinner, grandma is here, I don’t think I’ll get too far. Your brothers are being pills, the fun kind. They kinda show off for your sweet grandma. Joey is playing Bohemian Rhapsody on the piano right now, it sounds great.
This was another busy week at work, so there’s not a ton to report this week. It’s still cold, but at least there’s no snow. Their anticipating more flooding, but nobody is really sure. Im predicting a cooler summer, but things can change quickly around here.
Today church was normal, no meetings afterwards. Joey is getting the mission portal open. I think he’s been quietly stressed over it. I think it will help him to be more active in preparation for his mission. I’m always calmer being active in the things that scare me than I am when I’m just waiting for them. I think you guys are built similarly.
It’s now after dinner, most everyone is still here. Ben and Joey are jamming for aunt Patti, mom, and the girls. They sound so good. As Ben was rearranging the rooms he and Joey are so excited about you being home to play with them.
They have your stuff in the small room. Mom wants to rearrange it and give it the ladies touch. It’s the same size as Ben’s even if I thought it was smaller. I’ve always thought that was a cozy room, that’s why I put my records in there. Speaking of, I’m going to put them when the video games are, I think then we can jam music when we’re playing games and stuff and it won’t clutter up the music studio.
Like I said, this week’s been work heavy. Around here, highlight are dull. I fertilized the lawn, I got the lights on my new bumper connected. They’re red and white, the whites are bright and they’ll come in handy hooking up the trailer and setting up camp. The reds are for foggy nights or dusty roads where visibility is low. I also made a platform to even the floor of the back of the 4Runner. I figure if I go by myself I’ll just sleep in the back of the truck and avoid setting up a tent. But I look forward to setting up tents and trailer when we’re all together.
Yesterday Ben and I went to the spring game on campus. We sat directly on the 50 yard line. It was nice even though I’m not used to sitting down at football games anymore. The Utes have at leas two viable backups it looks like. A kid named Rose seems to be getting the reps, and a kid named Johnson who got some reps last year looks decent too. Barns got the start, but looked a tier below the other two. There’s also this huge guy with long blond hair who got some reps, I can’t remember his name but he was crazy athletic and physical. There’s a kid that they are comparing to Britain Covey at receiver, his name’s Mikey Mathews, and from what I saw, the comparison is apt.
When Joey got home from work we went to Hires to celebrate my birthday. I’m just going to say, it was exquisite. It’s by far my favorite burger. Even mom enjoyed it, even though her and Joey got the grilled ham and cheese sandwich. I got to choose the movie when we got home. I chose the John Ford western Who Shot Liberty Valance. I lost mom and Joe within minutes, but Ben hung in there with me. I don’t know if he liked it but it’s one of my favorite westerns. John Ford movies are about characters and morality, nobody looks like a movie star in his movies.
Everyone just left it was a fun party. We’ve just started Rango so I think I’ll finish here.
Love
Pops
