Last conference

Oh hi Bakey!

Sunday morning session is just starting, it’s comforting for me to think that you’re watching this at the same time we are. Your note regarding seeing the doctor about your eye was also comforting. My eyes watered thinking about how much that probably hurt. I hope it’s beginning to heal, I wonder if you will have a black eye.

Other than conference this weekend, you might know where you are going for transfer by now. Hopefully you’re excited about it. Its kinda freaky to think that the next time you need to pack up it will be to come home.

Right now the nice looking old guy is conducting the choir, Joe just pointed out that he can still look nice without carrying a big fake smile. He’s your brother.

This week was thankfully less eventful than last week. Monday after dinner we went to grandmas to put her stair railing up. There’s lots of little projects over there. We’re going to try to do something every time we go over. Today I’m going to fix her broken gate latch. Should take 5 minutes. I’m sure they’ll be a big herd over there as per normal. Tonight we’re going to aunt Patti’s for her birthday.

We’re at grandmas house now, talking about you and Jordan. We’re talking about all the movies you guys will have to catch up on. It’s really loud as always. Grandma’s food was really good, I can’t eat that much anymore because of my medication. I’ve lost about 15 pounds so far. But it’s taken the fun out of days like this. Now mom and Lithia are taking Disneyland…zzz.

We’re back at home now and afternoon session is just starting. I love the peace of our home, I love to be close by everyone, I can’t wait till next conference when you’re hear, I’m sad but will be proud that Joey will most likely be on his mission.

Back to the week, Wednesday night was the new Mandolorian episode, that series continues to be excellent. Thursday night mom and I went to do sealings with the ward. We were in the same group as the Elwood’s and the Knights, it was nice. Mom was told that Parker Elwood and Ryland Miller went through the temple…not together is my understanding. I think of that photo I sent you a couple of weeks ago, it’s nice to hear of their progress. Speaking of which, Ryder Neilson is working on his mission papers, I don’t know if you know him well, but his dad was the one that was questioning the President Randall about being blessed if you don’t go on a mission. Ryder is a nice kid, he’s pretty quiet. I think the other priests expect the Rivera’s to serve, but hopefully this will set some more expectations for them.

I took Friday off. We were thinking of going to Logan for the last day of mom and Joe’s spring break. But this winter is never ending and several of the canyons were closed due to the snow so we decided not to go. Joey convinced us to do the chicken sandwich challenge. We went to Chick-fil-A, Popeye’s, and KFC. KFC in Harriman was closed, because everything in Harriman sucks. So we got one from Carl’s Jr instead. I was rooting for Popeyes, but the Chick-fil-A sandwich won easily. We considered that the first bracket, we may do the classic fast food restaurants next, McDonald’s, Wendy’s and Burger King. After that Joe went with his buddies so mom and I went to the movies. We saw on called 65, it has Adam Driver in it. It’s about this guy that gets marooned on earth 65 million years BC. He has to make his way to the rescue ship while protecting a young girl against all these complete douche bag dinosaurs. This all has to happen before the Dino killer asteroid hits the earth. I thought it was a fun movie. We had homemade pizza for dinner, still delicious. After that at the last minute we decided to go to another movie, this time we went to go see The Dungeons and Dragons movie. It was really fun, even Benjamin approved it.

Conference just ended, I love conference and I always feel a little sad when it’s over. We’re heading out to aunt Patti’s now, so I’ll finish this up tonight.

We’re at aunt Patti’s now, they’re making steak and potatoes. Artie is not feeling well so they may not be as delicious as they could be, but I’m sure they’ll be fine.

Saturday was a working in the garage conference day. I love working and listening. I had bought a rear bumper for my 4Runner a while back and I decided to install it. It…Took…All…Day. It looks good, not perfect, but I’m getting used to it and I think it will grow on me. It was more involved than I thought it would be, but it took me my traditional three times longer than I thought it would. I bought it after I decided not to get the Gladiator, I had decided to make a few modifications to the Toyota to make it a little more robust. The stock plastic bumper had taken some big hits and probably wasn’t going to hold up. The new one also has some lights and recovery points on it which I had wanted to add to this car. Finally, if i ever need to jack it up, it gives me a more solid point than the plastic bumper cover. I’ll let you know how it holds up.

I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow, let me know what the timing looks like. I know transfer days are different for you.

Love you kid,

Pops
