Haaaaaaapy biiiiiirthday!

Oh hi kid,

HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY!!! 19 eh? Mom’s going to transfer some money over to you. Buy what you need, or want, or just go out to eat when you get time. We really love you Jacob, we miss you, and we’re super proud of you.

Your mission president posted a bunch of pics of you guys at zone conference. You look happy, you look like you’re having fun. I really appreciate your president posting those pictures. From our perspective, it sure seems like there’s a lot going on down there. I made a comment on the Facebook post where I posted your note about the earthquake and being ok. “Plagues, floods, earthquakes.” In my day, that really would have sounded like last day’s stuff. But your generation is going to be defined by constant change. You guys will just roll with it.

The cowboys just lost to Tampa bay. Mom’s now the leader in our little fantasy league.

There was a Deseret news article this week where all their sports writers chose their picks for the rivalry game. They all described how awesome byu was, but then they all picked Utah by a close score. Even that homer dick Harmon.

It’s looking more like byu is going to the big 12. I think if they could they’d start next year, but the might have to wait 3 or even 4 years depending on all of the contracts and buy outs and stuff. They were talking on sports talk about how it would energize the rivalry, and I have to agree. But for now, I just need the utes to win so we don’t have to hear about it for the next two years when we don’t play.

I designed some socks today, I thought you should know.

Of those two job interviews I had last week, I told the first that I wasn’t interested. It sounded very much like the ceo want what we designers call a “Mac monkey,” which is just someone who is told what to because the know the software. Not for me. I haven’t heard from the other more interesting job, but i’m not too worried about it.

I took my staff to lunch today which I genuinely enjoyed, but we went to Zupas, so yuck.

It’s still hot out, but I kinda don’t mind because at this time of year, you know that those hot days are numbered.

We’re going to grandmas to celebrate grandpa’s birthday tomorrow. I’m not super excited to go, but we’ll miss you, that’s for sure.

It was fun to read Jordan’s letter. His apartment sure seems haunted. He seems to just roll with it, but I wonder what he tells you.

Well, mom just reached here bedtime freak out, so I better go.

I’ll keep you posted about Saturday night, and I’ll write Sunday.

Thinking of you always,

Love pops
