Not another football update

O hi Jacob!

We got home from grandmas just a bit ago. It was crowded, I’m not used to that, and I’m not used to you and Jordan not being there. It too busy in some ways, and too quiet without you guys. Grandma had hotdogs with a plethora of toppings. I’m planning on doing the deck this week, another time I’ll miss you. 

About that article I sent you earlier. Honestly, I know Aaron Lowe played this year, I just don’t remember him. Either way, it’s a shock. It just shows you how short life can be, and how you have to make the most of it. I can’t imagine how hard something so senseless would be on a family, or the team for that matter. It also puts the shaky season in perspective, like in the scheme football even matters. But I guess it does for a lot of people. I wonder how the Utes will react. There’s a bye next week, and be and I might miss the USC game because we’re taking aunt Stella to Colorado that weekend. 

Yesterday, your brothers went to the game with Artie and the Berg’s. I watched the game mostly by myself at home and to be honest, there were several points in the first three quarters that I about turned it off. I spent a chunk of the morning at Sam’s and Costco with mom and grandma. Every time I’m with grandma I marvel at how much she thinks about every member of her family. There are many ways I’d like to be more like that. 

After, I spent an hour at HarborFreight buying a big toolbox. I’m trying to get organized, even though I know that deep down I’m not. I knew I’d need to take the little trailer to pick it up. They told me to come to the back and they’d load it up with a forklift 😨. We’ll, I know it was bigger than my old one, but a forklift? It was the smallest of all the ones I was considering. When they rolled it out, my little trailer looked even smaller. But they put it on, with some effort, and I strapped it down and dragged it home. I wrestled most of it off myself and unboxed it . I did need to wait till later to get your brothers to help me lift the top up. Now I need to gather my tools from all over he house and try to organize it.

After the game, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings with grandma and grandpa. I got a burger, it was okay. The server called me “bud” when he brought it 15 minutes after everyone else’s came. I felt like punching him. I liked your reply to my Facebook post, it reminded me a little of Nacho Libre’s rant about how great his priestly duties are.

Mom and I got to go to the temple Friday night. It’s the first time we’ve been since we went just before you left. It was nice, but I admit that I was distracted and probably didn’t prepare myself well enough. After mom and I went to La Fountain for cheese enchiladas, they were delicious, but it was a mistake as I had heartburn all night and got like 3 hours of sleep. I paid for that today by sleeping in late, sleeping through sacrament meeting, and taking a two hour nap after church. I hope I can get to sleep tonight.

We’re watching the 49ers play Green Bay right now, joe just brought down popcorn. Things don’t really change around here, which I’m really grateful for. 

I’m have a meeting at three tomorrow, so maybe you can call joe first, then mom. I can get on at 3:30. Mom will be home too. Feel free to message me anytime, I love to hear from you.

Aunt Lithia was saying how different you and Jordan’s missions seem to be. They may be different, but I think you guys are different. You seem to be looking out, meaning you’re describing the people and surroundings around you. And most other missionaries describe themselves. Which isn’t in any way bad, but it is far less interesting, less inspiring.
