Rogain
October 17, 2021,
Well, here it is again, late Sunday night and I’m barely getting to write you. I’ve intended to write all day, but I like it to be quiet and alone, so usually that’s why it’s so late.
I’m pretty sure I sent you all of the exciting stuff from the game last night, and between the updates, articles, and Ben’s summary, I’m sure it’s covered. My voice is still raspy from yelling, and I’m tired from staying out so late after dropping off Artie in bountiful after the late start game. You know how it bugs you guys when I say I’d rather watch the game on my big screen? Well, last night I was sure happy to be there. I did not expect that second half, I hadn’t lost hope, but I was looking for the Utes to slowly close the gap and sneak in a win. Instead, they decided to put together the most perfect half of football I can recall them playing. Both on O and on D. I don’t know if Ben told you this part. Covey was called for an unsportsmanlike penalty. He had a great game, and you’ve seen that when he does, the opposing defense always throws him down hard or tries to strip the ball. This time he got the better of the defender and put hm on his back, the stood over him and flexed. I usually hate those stupid penalties, but the Utes were rolling, it was covey, and It was awesome! Kyle whittingham was asked about it in the press conference, he didn’t see the flex, then joked that he thought maybe Britain took his helmet off to show how well the Rogain was working. Then he went on a just said what a great player covey was, and what a great game he had. I figure that if a guy like coach whit is comfortable enough to roast you in public like that, he must think you’re a legend.
Other than the game, Saturday was quite. I dinked around in the garage a while. I’m making and old workbench I had into a table for the patio. I didn’t want to spend one penny on it so I took some old metal shelves to make a top. I’m not sure mom digs it, but it should be a useful place to put all of our patio kitchen crap in once I finish cleaning it up.
Today was pretty normal too. Church was back to normal. I played around with my 3D printer a little. I should have taken a nap.
We went to aunt Patti’s for dinner tonight. Ben is getting really close to that side of the family. It’s fun to see him open up to them. I think joe is a little possessive of you guys, especially Ben now since you’re away. He really misses you, though he doesn’t know how to express it. We were there later than I wanted to be. For good reason though, cousin Cecily made grandma Heumann this really cool leather wallet. For reals, it’s amazing.
Tomorrow is that interview. It’s at 3 our time. Everyone should be around for spring break, so you can call them and I will join after. I asked Ben for a blessing, and I do feel more calm about it. I’ll tell you that I had a positive airplane dream this morning, so we’ll see. If you’d do me the favor of remembering me in your direct to heaven missionary prayers tomorrow I’d appreciate it.
Ben and Artie are planning another movie night the day before thanksgiving. I’m used to you planning the turkey bowl,
I just want to finish by telling you that I miss you Jacob. And all of these activities I tell you about would be that much more fun with you there. That being said, the Lord needs you too, to be that amazing Jacob person for his people in your area. Let that fun guy out as much as you can, that Jacob is a light wherever you are.
Well, it’s time for…Love-YA-I-tell-YA!
