Foisted Again

O hi kid,

I’m writing this early as I’m heading out for youth conference in a bit. Also because my interview just got moved to Friday, which I must say has perturbed me more than slightly. I’m going to need to get up at 4 am to get packed and to come back in time for the call. I just want to get this done.

Apparently, Jacob is not enjoying his high Adventure Experience to a high level. Surprising, no? It will be fun to see hime tonight though. Bishop will be annoyed that I’m only going up for a day, but he’ll survive too.

Yesterday mom went to aunt Patti’s to get her hair done by your cousin Camille. As an aside, her hair looks great, even you boys would notice the difference. Joe and I took the opportunity to go see Toy Story 4 for the 2nd time. I had low hopes for this sequel, but I really enjoyed it. By this point one is super vested in the characters, the storyline was great, the new characters were not annoying like they can be in so many sequels, and the CG…stunning.

We went up to hang out with your Mom and cousins after the movie. We went to lunch with Aunt Patti, it was fun. Joey ended up playing basketball with Max for three hours, so I came home. While we were there, Aunt Patti mentioned how much your letter meant to your cousin Artie. Thank you for that Ben, you are such a positive influence to so many of the people that I love, and that I worry about. Your cousin Camille laughs out-loud at your letters.

I omitted to tell you in my last letter, which upon reread was a ramble smattering of sleep deprived incoherency, that somehow Joseph talked us into going to Lagoon last Friday. Due to the spontaneous nature of the excursion, we went just as the four of us, no friends or relations to encumber us. I must say that it was one of the funner times that we have experienced at Lagoon. The phrase “If Ben was here..” was repeated frequently and positively. We missed you. That being said, your brothers both rode the Cannibal with us, Jacob twice. We rode Rattlesnake Rapids six times. We were thoroughly soaked. I noticed as I age, the butterflies of the thrill of the rides don’t affect me, I enjoy them a lot more. What gets me is the inner ear motion sickness and the smells of the place. After a while, I just can’t ride anymore.

This morning I had a meeting with a very nice lady at the Utah Division of Workforce Services. It was to see if I qualify for any vocational training. I’m interested in UX/UI training. But I honestly hope that I’m working and unable to partake.

Well, I better get packed, as you know, It’s a four hour trip to Flaming Gorge.

Remember, I love you my fine son,

Pops
