Gumby

Good evening young Elder Ben,

We just finished watching some Wallace and Gromit shorts mom discovered on Netflix. They’re pretty fun, Ive never seen them before, now I crave cheese.

Tonight there was youth conference fireside. Brother Noble brought in a guy to give the fireside who incorporated card tricks into his lesson. I have to admit the tricks were impressive. His message was pretty good too.

So now we’re watching Gumby on Netflix. Gumby is the original clay stop-motion animated cartoon from the 50s and 60s. It has to be the most random thing we’ve ever seen. I remember it was still on tv when I was a really little kid.

Today we went to grandmas for dinner, we had roast beef and mashed potatoes. It was delicious. 

This week I decided to do some chores around the house in hopes that my excessive free time would soon come to an end. I finished painting the light blue we did in the movie room on the other side of the wall in the game room. I also painted the picture wall in the game room that super dark gray I painted my office. The other two wall and the rest of the hall will be a slightly darker shade of blue. I may do half of a wall in the game room white with a big red block U painted on it that we can put our Utes memories on. We’re also rearranging the pictures on the picture wall. All-in-all, I kinda just think I’m doing it to burn of some of the nervous energy I have awaiting my next interview.

While we were at grandmas, President McMullen called me on the phone. He just called to see how the interview progress was going. I’m touched by his attention to our family. I don’t think I’ve ever gotten that much thought from any Stake President I’ve ever had. Heck, I’m not sure I even knew who the Stake President was in our sandy or Lehi Stakes.

Several weeks ago, the Spirit whispered the date of June 24th to me. At the time I had hoped that that was the day I’d start a new gig. As the date drew nearer, it sorta faded from memory. Mom reminded me of that today, so now I’m excited to see what tomorrow brings. As always, I’ll keep you appraised.
