Covid closures
Oh hi kid!
Remember a really long time ago when I said I didn’t have enough to write about on how everything had become routine? What an idiot I was. logic has seamed to have left us collectively.
Thursday there was a rumor at work that 2 people had covid-19,and that they would send us all home. I made some basic arrangements for my staff to have that option and told everyone to be prepared. I had heard a rumor that the fire marshal had shut down one of the Utah country Costco’s due to over crowding. Seems like par for the course. Then we heard that church was canceled. All I could wonder was what that would mean for you.
I took Friday off to work on the Jeep but kept a close eye on email. Your brothers were hoping school and church would be canceled, Mom and I were hoping not. Since I was home we took joe to school. Your mom and I both thought we should stop by the store to pick up a few things. Our first stop was Costco. We arrived just before it opened and there was a line of people with their cart all the way across the parking lot. We passed on Costco. Then we went to stamps club. It wasn’t too crowded, but the shelves were a little bare and things weren’t al in stock. No water or toilet paper, most of the frozen meat, and bread and tortillas were gone too. We bought a few extras things, just to be safe. The funny thing was, we went over to Walmart, and it looked like a normal day, they had everything. The lines we short, nobody seemed rushed. Maybe it’s the Costco shoppers that are nuts? By Friday afternoon, the governor made the announcement that school would be cancelled. Wow, I’ve never seen anything like this in my life.
Your cousin Cecily sent me an article on how dangerous this could be for at risk people, like grandma and grandpa (especially grandpa). So I put it up on the Heumann family Facebook babe in hopes of having it the parade of sick kids being baby sat etc. slow down a bit. Hopefully that warning has been headed, for now at least.
I got an email today that anyone who could work remotely do so. I have a new guy starting tomorrow, so I’m planning on going in. I also think that if most folks are staying home, I should be fine coming into the office and being productive. I guess we’ll see.
Tonight we watched the movie Contagion. It may not have been the best thing to watch with your brothers as it portrays a scenario with a much more leather pathogen. But it was interesting how they showed the press, the vaccine development, and the origin of the disease. Everything but zombies in that one.
So Id Di get the new radiator installed in the Jeep. I haven’t filled it with coolant yet because I’m supposed o use a 50/50 mixture of antifreeze and distilled water. Everyplace is out of water, including distilled. I can picture idiots pouring themselves a tall cold glass of flat and disco ting distilled water. It will serve them right.
Today we had church at home. we sang al 4 verses of the opening and closing songs, had prayers and I gave a talk and mom the come follow me lesson. We’re waiting on direction on the sacrament. I’ve also checked I. With my ministering families as well as most of the folks on our street.
I’ve been thinking of your possible transfer. I want plenty of details tomorrow
Well, Ben, sure love ya!,
Pops
