They cancelled the NBA, and it’s Rudy Gobert’s fault!

Oh hi kid,

Today we got a letter from your mission president informing us of the precautions that will be taken in your mission. I won’t tell you to be careful, I know how you react to such advice. He did mention that you’ll be getting a two week supply of food in case of emergency. I’m not sure how bad the Covid-19 virus is if you catch it, but I can imagine how bad it would be to be stuck in your apartment for two weeks of your mission. I’m praying for you kid, that would stink.

The virus is starting to tangibly affect normal life here. So far, it’s in trivial matters. Rudy Gobert was diagnosing with it before the game against the thunder. As a result, the NBA season is cancelled “until further notice”. The Church will not have a congregation at General conference, or any stake or ward houses. I wonder how or if you’ll get to see it? Stake conferences will be canceled, mom’s training on Saturday with President Uchtdorf is canceled. The U of U has canceled classes, they’re all going to be done online. Also, the NCAA, so far, will play the tournament with no fans. I wonder if they’ll cancel it after the NBA has canceled there season. I read where Italy has shut down all their stores. Seems like this afternoon we were hearing stuff like this every 5 minutes.

On a positive note, I’ve nearly fixed that valve the froze and flooded the basement. I blew it off till now because I never used that system for irrigation. But Bluffdale is changing the secondary water system a requiring inspections, or we don’t get to water the lawn this summer.

Mom’s in her super busy time of the semester with parent teacher conferences. She works so hard.

I’m taking Friday off to fix my radiator on my Jeep, wish me luck.

I’ve been thinking a lot about Jing’s letter, it made an impact on me. I’ve read it several times so far. He has the faith of a true pioneer. I feel grateful just to have heard that story.

I’ve spent the last several evenings planning our route through Death Valley. I’m finally happy with the third route. We’re not seeing everything, but we’re hitting the highlights. Other than washboard and sandy roads, looks like there’s only one section that’s too technical for the trailer, so it’s staying home.

Well, that’s about it for me, love you!
