The fighting preacher

Oh hi kid!

We just finished watching the new TC Christensen (17 Miracles) film, The Fighting Preacher. It’s about a couple who were sent to palmyra New York on a mission right after the church bought the smith farm in 1915. I am a sucker for those cheesy movies. Your brothers make fun, but they watch and don’t really complain.

Today we went to aunt Patti’s house for dinner. I had invited everyone over to our house, but she and Cecily wanted to do it. They made grilled chicken and really good Mac and cheese (you know my usual aversion to plug) she also made me my favorite chocolate cherry cake...sooo good. I don’t think I always appreciated my sisters, but now it seems I have an emotional need to see them often. Your aunt patti seems to be doing better. I know she has a lot of challenges in front of her, but her faith has become so strong. She has always been my example of toughness and resiliency.

Yesterday was a pretty standard Saturday. I prepped the upstairs hallway for painting. I think I’ll paint it the same blue as the entry hall. I’ll need to repaint some of the trim too. Then I want to make prints of all of our family portraits through the years on the long wall. On the short wall, I may put up older portraits of my family and of moms, if I can find them. Joe and I did rcs, his continued it’s domination over mine, and it’s frustrating as heck. The Utes lost to Cal, for a total of zero road wins on the year. Their last game is next Saturday at home.

Friday night I was given a ticket to the jazz game with some folks from work. It was from a vendor we work with. We got a suite. I took trax in and had a much better time than I had anticipated. The people from work are pretty nice. The jazz beat the wizards in convincing fashion.

I’m trying to start getting ready for the Death Valley trip at the end of the month. I need to do some work on the Jeep. I ordered a radiator and am planning the install myself. Fingers crossed that I can do it and save money rather than it costing me by screwing it up. Hopefully that’s the major thing I’ll need to get ready other than the standard camping stuff. I’m looking forward to the time change to have more time in the evening to do stuff.

Work’s going well. This year we’ll be doing a new website and a brand templating project, it will be more fun than it sounds.

Wow, I thought I had a bit more to say tonight, but oh well.

I look forward to hearing from you tomorrow. Jacob mentioned that he hoped you could call.

Sure love you my fine boy,

Pops

P.s. I did this poster for church. I didn’t have a ton of mojo to be creative, so it came out pretty standard. Jacob was disappointed that I didn’t hide a Utes logo in there like I have in all my other church posters.
