Released

Good evening kid,

President McMullen and President Park send their best. We got called in tonight and I was released from the Bishopric. That was maybe the shortest calling I’ve ever had, and maybe my favorite. I remember when I wrote you with the news your response was that I might enjoy it. You were right, I did very much enjoy it. We’re getting a new Bishopric, no idea who it may be. I’ll let you know Sunday.

On Sunday I had one of my airplane dreams, one of the scary ones. I hate those, but I now understand them for the blessing they are. It was in the dark hours of the morning. Now when I get them I start praying, hard. I start with you, then mom and your brothers, then I go down the list. Then I wait, usually when I get the news of whatever the dream was a warning for, I know right away, even if there are no details it the first hearing of the news. Yesterday I got a text from the Stake executive secretary, and I knew I would be released, and I knew I would be sad about it. But now I know that the dream wasn’t anything dire or permanent, and I’m grateful. Oh, and though I’m I bit sad about the release, I’m thrilled about not being called as Bishop, (I knew I wouldn’t be, but that’s another story) talk about terrifying.

So now I get to experience two hour church 😏 for the first time, and I get my Tuesday and Wednesday nights back, not that I need any more free time. Maybe this will be a blessing for an upcoming demanding job.

I sent your package yesterday with you shirt (sorry about the design being a little off kilter, I’m still figuring out this T-shirt thing). There’s also a bag of candy in there from your cousin tevia’s reception (from aunt Lori actually) and some treats from me. The post office said it should be there by tomorrow if you happen to be in the vicinity of the office.

Today I went to a job fair. I’m pretty sure I could have gotten a job with the TSA working security at the airport if I wanted, it may still come to that. I did talk to several companies with internal creative departments, so I have some contacts if any openings come up. I did talk to a rep from an ad agency. She basically said that I was too senior for any of her jobs, that from my resume they thought I’d be too expensive. How nice.

Tomorrow is the big game, I’ll send that email after the game if you’re brothers don’t. I’ll also send you a recap from one of the local papers.

Your brothers just came in from playing football and it’s almost bedtime.

Love you kid,

Pops
