Crunch
Oh hi Benjamin,
You’ll never guess...Dante Exhum is...injured! What you ask? How is that possible you ask? I know, hard to believe huh? It was in practice, and since it’s pre season it’s probably just an excuse to rest...but still.
Yesterday I rear ended someone after work, it was super minor and quite embarrassing. I was turning right and the guy in front of me let off the brakes and went, or so I thought. When I saw him go I checked left to double check that there would be space for me to go. So I let off the brakes to go and before I could get on the gas to go...crunch. It was a minor damage, but damage nonetheless. It bent his trunk lid and scratched his bumper cover, nothing, I mean nothing, not a scratch, not a scuff, not even any dirt came off of my Jeep bumper. So hopefully all I’ve lost is my no accident discount, but grandma is checking for me.
So there’s that. Have you ever has something bad or frustrating happen to you and all you can think is, “thanks Heavenly Father, that could’ve been so much worse.” We’ll, that was pretty much how I felt yesterday.
Last night we went to the with the runnin’ Utes like we do most years. Game summary: it might be a long year. There’s only one junior and one senior, the rest are freshman and sophomores. Two noteworthy items from that event. The first was, the athletic department seem to be expecting a crappy season, they’re we selling “Baller Packs”, two T-shirt’s and two season tickets to every men’s and women’s basketball games, all for $50. So we bought two sets. So yah, we have season tickets. The second interesting thing—do you remember that really tall kid that lived on our street in Lehi, Matthew was his name? Well, he’s the Utes freshman center, he’s 7’4”. I couldn’t tell if he was any good, but he seemed no more awkward than Jace Johnson. He’s a lot hairier now, but he still has the same look around his eyes. Jake is the one that recognized Him, I never would have.
Works going well. I really feel at home there so far, even though I don’t know too much yet. I’ve been taken to lunch quite a bit, so there’s that.
I’m really proud of your brothers. Tonight when I got home your brothers were on their way to go help with the ward Halloween party. Mom’s crockpot chicken burnt so they went on empty stomachs. I felt bad so I offered to take them to eat. Jacob had told the bishop he’d be there, so the went hungry. I have three freaking good boys I tell ya!
Well, not too much else to tell today, just that I love you and I’m proud of you kid,
Pops
