Pffffttttt!

Oh hi kid,

Well, it’s Texas I the Alamo bowl. To that sir, is say....ppppppfffffftttt! Dang Ben, Oregon had us figured out. They stopped Moss, they broke through our offense line, they ran on us, they passed on us. Crappola Ben. Oh well, I still love the Utes, and if you’re a true Ute fan, this sadly, is not a new feeling. On the other hand, maybe the basketball team will come together. They’re getting fun to watch, and I don’t think our expectations will get out of hand with them. Also, it’s pretty embarrassing for a full grown man to feel so disappointed about a sporting outcome, but my love for those dang Utes does run deep.

We’re watching the first presidency Christmas devotional on YouTube right now, mom’s making crafts for her class, your brothers are doing dot-to-dots and I’m writing this. We’re you able to watch? These talks make me emotional.

I had a good church day today, nothing special, just busy. We had elders quorum meeting this morning, I love finding ways to serve in the ward, I really appreciate this calling and the brothers I serve with. Parker was sustained as an elder in sacrament meeting today. There were three great talks on forgiveness today, you advisor brother Adams was one of those speakers. After, Brother Noble and I went over to Brother Bartlett’s to give him a blessing. He has a strange pain in his leg that I can tell is worrying him. He’s been to the doctor, but they didn’t know what it is. I anointed and Brother Noble gave the blessing. It’s a really neat opportunity when you think of it. I love being able to serve in our ward, it brings one closer to our neighbors. After that, I got to do ministering interviews. I love those because I’m finally getting to know the brothers in our ward. Also, I love ministering interviews, because we’re only challenged to do a little more than what we’re currently doing in caring for each other. 

I went to grandmas on my own because mom went early to help make the tacos. It was a little quieter than normal because uncle Stevens family wasn’t there. Mark was giddy at the Utes loss, so I told him how much happier he’d be when it was BYU that actually beat Utah. We had a pretty fun exchange. You’ll be glad to know that nobody on your mom’s side can get the better of me when we’re matching wits with BYU and Utah. Oh, your cousins hailey and Nick are expecting, so you’ll have a new baby cousin before you get home.

Yesterday we spent the day at aunt Patti’s making tamales. I’ve always wanted mom to learn how to make them. It was fun being together, I think we all need it.

We’re getting you “big box of nothing” together for you. Don’t worry, it will be modest. I’ll mail it on Tuesday, so it may be late getting to you.

Well, kinda short today Benjamin, just please know how much I love you. Please be safe and take care, and I look forward to texting and maybe chatting with you tomorrow.
