S’more cake?

O hi kid,

How was your day. Hopefully eventful in a positive way. I hope to hear/read details tomorrow.

I was in the car with your mom when she was dictating her letter to you. So I’ll try not to repeat too much. We were on the way home from that viewing. We had stopped by grandmas to drop off a piece of mom’s yummy s’more cake. It was insanely good. It had snowed a little in bluffdale just as we were getting home. We were in my little car to save gas. It has summer only tires, not even all seasons. We slid down the off ramp, then drove super slow all the way home, Truth be told, it was kinda fun, just not your moms kind of fun. I’m grateful to have good/new tires on our other two cars (pig not included).

Yesterday was another busy Saturday. We started out Christmas shopping. Then mom told me that grandma couldn’t Park in her garage till we moved her old freezer. That’s probably the first time I’ve really missed the truck since we got rid of it. Home Depot rents trucks by the hour. They only had a van, which worked out better. It was one of those Transit vans that they make rvs out of. I thought we should trade in the Jeep and the Buick to get into one. Your mother’s not having it. It was kinda fun to drive though. 

Aunt Patti and the coopers invited us to go see Jumanji with them last night. I wasn’t super excited to go, I haven’t done any real projects around the house since I started working. But we went and it was fun. I have been feeling the need to be close to patti and Artie lately. We have so much fun together. 

As mom told you, they came over for dinner today., then we went to that viewing. Remember those relatives you saw but didn’t know at the temple open house? they were related to the lady that died.

Work’s getting a little challenging these days. Not from the actual work load, more from the fact that I’m coming to accept the fact that to succeed, I’m going to have to make some changes in the staff, maybe some uncomfortable ones. I’ve been praying about work things more than I probably ever have. I don’t have answers yet, I just know that there’s some pretty great opportunities there, but those around me see them as something different. I either need to get them to see what I see, or find someone who will. My boss is very supportive, it’s just getting to be time to be decisive. I’ve been there about 10 weeks now, almost as long as you were in the MTC. I don’t take this lightly.

The Utes beat Weber state yesterday. I didn’t send you updates because I was doing that freezer move. Sounded like they got a slow start, then pulled away pretty easily. They’re already 8-2 I think, WAY better than I thought they’d be. They have a really tough schedule coming up, including Kentucky and San Diego state. Oregon and Arizona are also ranked. If they make the tournament this year, they’ll have earned it.

Are transfers this week? Maybe you’ve already heard? Keep us posted. We’re always thinking of you Benjamin.

Well, better go now. My letters seem shorter and less eventful than before I got this job, I’m super grateful my life is more boring I must confess.
