Thistle and pizza

Oh hi Benjamin!

So, I’m up late. I’m in the midst of one of my epic battles with insomnia. I’ve gotten the upper hand on it by not caring if my rest comes in the form of sleep or repose. I do look forward to some z’s though.

We had a pretty fun weekend. Aunt Patti sent me this link to a ghost town by the name of thistle. We went there as a family just before our first epic Jeep trip to the San Raphael Swell about 11 years ago. At the the time, the abandon school had an arcade entryway, and we had found a house that had floated up a draw in the flood. This time the school is down to its foundation, and access to the floated house is blocked by a new house (in a really weird location). All that was there was the mud house. My sisters plus Artie and Max came, plus my buddy Doug Dearden and his Wife Sandy. We had two-jacks on the way home, that plus lots of sun made a little adventure a lot of fun.

Today the Utes got killed by UCLA, Thursday they were pummeled by usc. Some of those early season highlights seem a dim memory.

Also today was our super bowl party, indistinguishable from earlier versions, including the abundance of delicious food. I think it was a good game, I watched the entirety. I must confess a bit of drowsy ness and a pinch of disinterest. The chiefs beet the 49ers. One cheer for the lamanites.

As everyone here slumbers, the hope is for a snow day tomorrow. I don’t really benefit from such things, so I don’t care. Stow has started and I’ve seen reports for possibly 12 inches on the valley floors. That will be interesting.

That’s today’s report kid, sure love you,

Pops
