New Bishopric

Oh hi kid!

Well, it’s official, we’re all released. The new Bishop is Adam Marchant (this is his second time being Bishop); first councilor is Steve Snarr, who was previously the executive secretary; Brother Fielding is the second councilor; and Brother Bartlett is the executive secretary. That leaves the Elders Quorum President and the Young Men’s President positions open. Bishop Powers and Brother Carver are fine candidates for those positions.

In other news, I have an interview this coming Thursday, I think I line up pretty well for it. I’ll keep you posted.

Tomorrow is Labor Day, we have no plans other than maybe going to In-n-out with grandma and grandpa.

Speaking of grandma, she asked me to ask you if you are getting her emails, maybe just drop her a line if you wanna.

Today we went over there for dinner. She made Alfredo for Erinn. It was a pretty loud dinner. Erinn seems like she never left, she seems exactly the same to me.

Oh, and your brothers are hopeful for a call tomorrow, they’re hoping to tell you about the game. Speaking of the game, BYU fans are awfully quiet these days.

In other football news. Oregon lost to Auburn, USC won their game but lost their star quarterback to an injury for the year.

Tonight Jacob had a question about blacks and the Priesthood. I think it came from a comment that Neilson made to the effect that I’d have been called as Bishop if I was white. I actually appreciate Neilson for that, but there’s so many other factors to a calling than that. Anyway, we read the church essay about race and the priesthood, then we talked about it for a long time. I’m glad he questions, I just hope he’s actually questioning rather than just accusing. I believe that if you’re questioning, you’re looking for an answer, if you’re accusing, your looking for an excuse. Has that question come up so far on your mission?

Well, that’s about it for me tonight. I hope we can chat a little tomorrow.

I sure love you Ben,

Pops
