September

Do you remember the 21st night of September?
love was changing the mind of pretenders
while chasing the clouds away
Our hearts were ringing
in the key that our souls were singing.
as we danced in the night,
remember - how the stars stole the night away, yeah yeah yeah.

                                             —September, Earth, Wind and Fire

Oh hi kid,

The only meaning to the nonsense above is that they’re the lyrics my favorite all time happy song.

Now, I’m not out of the woods yet. I’ll be sending back my counter offer tomorrow. At this level, it’s expected. It does make me a bit nervous, but I’ve done plenty of research and I feel good about my plan. Plus Mike basically told me it was part of the process. I will keep you posted.

If this all comes through, it occurred to me that I lost my job a couple of weeks after I was called to the Bishopric. I got this offer a couple of weeks after I was released. It seems to me that I was given that calling as a comfort to help me through this trial. I felt that while I was serving I was doing my best effort for the Lord. Turns out that it was a great service and comfort to me to have that calling to help me keep some sense of self worth and purpose during that t. I’m unbelievably grateful.

That seems to be the way that service works, as you forget yourself, you personally will be blessed. It’s sounds to me that you are serving in a way that you will be blessed too. You may not even know how you need or want to be blessed, but when those blessings come, you will recognize them and you will feel gratitude.

Okay, end of the “Righteous dad” part of the letter. Maybe.

I sent you updates on the game Friday, and honestly, I really haven’t read or listened to anything about the Utes since. All I know is that the fell from #10 to #19 in the AP poll. I don’t know Moss’s status. On the bright side, Washington killed BYU 42-19. So nobody on either side really talked about football today.

The primary program was today. Mom did a great job as the music leader. The last song the children sang was Gethsemane, the Kids seemed to really enjoy singing it, the Spirit was strong.

It’s otherwise been pretty quiet around here, in a good way. Mom made these amazing green chili pork enchiladas today...oh man.  Joe made strawberry and peach pies...double oh man! My family along with grandma and grandpa came over. It was a nice day.

Lyity,

Pops

P.S. oh, I almost forgot. You know that freelance thing? Well, I’m 99% positive that it is a scam. So much so that I called the cops to get advice. They said that it very much sounded like a scam and suggested that I call the fraud department at the bank and that I try to get the scammers to talk to me live on the phone or via Skype. The fraud department told me in no uncertain terms that it was a well known scam, called the employment scam the whole object is to gain your trust, get you to deposit a check, then to get you to wire the money before the check clears. That’s where the so called office equipment came in. I almost did it. The check could still clear, but I would be beyond shock if it did. The scammers would not talk to me directly, they feigned being sick and having to go to the hospital. I even tried calling the local number for Cisco systems here in Utah, it was som guys personal number who had nothing to do with Cisco and who had never heard of the hiring manager. I’m also wondering what harassment the scammers have in store for me, though I’m hoping they just decided to cut their losses. The scary thing is, I was on my way to the bank to do the transfer. I had just prayed and told Heavenly Father that that was my decision, but to let me know if it was ok. I jumped into the Jeep, and before I even turned the key I knew I shouldn’t go do it. That’s when I called the cops and the bank.
